| Having a BFA has taught me a few things. One is, you have to persist and do the art that you want. Fight tooth-and-nail for it. It is possible to scrape by on what you think will make your peers, and those 'open' artists that have a singular view of art will find meaning in, but you need to be true to yourself. You will gain many skills in art school; invaluable, wonderful things. Even after they've chewed you up and spit you out, you realize that you're stronger (possibly even obstinate) about your beliefs and in your art-making. You won't even know it until you see that your instructors were right; that down period does happen where you make nothing. Then when you get back to making your own art, your own assignments, your own projects...you realize just how grateful you were for them being the abrasive critics they were. They may not and may never 'get' where you're at; but damn it, you won't care. If you're truly passionate about -your- passions, they will come back better than ever. Take the good with the bad, and you will come out on top, with that paper in your hand that will only land you a job back at Hardee's, or Kmart...but you have the knowledge that some day you WILL reach that pinnacle you're looking for. That point where you're doing your dream job and making a living on it will come. And you can sit back and watch those cynics 'settle' and not be half as happy or proud as you are. |

I've yet to add anything as the scanner is currently out of commission, but yeah... You'll see it when it gets there. xD <3

A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
Don't plan the plan if you can't follow through.
All that matters is taking matters into your own hands.
So please give me a sec to catch my breath.
